Graduate Student Health Care
|
Graduate students have access to health care through payment of the general fees upon registration. Graduate registration for six or more credits is required to be automatically charged the general fee that includes health services. These basic health services are provided through the on-campus facility: Hartshorn Health Services. Students registered for less than six credits can still access these services by paying the general fee.
Use of the Health Service is paid for by semester fees assessed to full-time students. Part-time students, Division of Continuing Education, GUEST registrants, spouses or co-habitating partners, and children of students may pay the Health Fee on a semester basis and have use of the Health Service.
Many services provided by the Health Service are paid for entirely by the Health Fee. They are:
- Visits to the staff physician/provider of your choice
- Mental Health Counseling (up to five visits)
- Triage Center
- Alcohol Education
Remember to bring your picture ID when you go forservices. Call the appropriate clinic telephone number or call the main number (970) 491-7121 for appointments.
Your Health Fee enables the Health Service to offer you additional services at reduced costs. There are charges for the following items:
- Physical Therapy
- Nutritional Counseling
- Mental Health visits after the fifth visit
- Dental Services
- Special Gynecological procedures
- Optometry
- Allergy screening/medications/injections
- Immunization

- Massage Therapy
- Pharmacy
- Casts, dressing, rental items
- Dermatology
- Laboratory procedures
- Orthopedic
- Medical procedures

Additional health and accident insurance is available for purchase. Go to the Hartshorn Health Services website for details. International students are required to have this insurance.
