2009 Homecoming Race Overall Results
The Homecoming Race is an event for the whole family. Both runners and walkers
of all ages are welcome to participate in the 5K race around the beautiful CSU
campus. Children are invited to take part in the free Kids Fun Run led by Cam
the Ram. As every year passes, more and more students and community members
join in the fun. Over 1,800 people participated in the event in 2008.
The 2009 Homecoming 5K race will take place on Saturday, October 10, 2009, at 8:00 AM
at the CSU Oval. This annual event began 29 years ago as a fundraiser for the
Adult Fitness Program. Today proceeds from the race support the Heart Disease
Prevention Program of the Human Performance Clinical/Research Lab. Over $50,000
was raised in 2008 for the Heart Disease Prevention Program. This program
provides an opportunity for individuals to be screened for all the risk factors
for heart disease. This screening includes personal and family history, a
maximal treadmill test, an examination by a physician, blood lipid analysis,
body composition assessment, and much more.
